Why should I choose Hunter Property Services?

We take pride in our work and communities and are committed to
providing the best possible service and ensuring your satisfaction
and safety.

Not all pool, irrigation, and property services companies in Texas
are the same. In Texas there are over 6000 companies that
provide swimming pool services.
As of March 1, 2010 swimming
pool service companies and their technicians that perform repairs
requiring electrical connections, such as installing a new pump or
replacing a motor, blower, relay, printed circuit board, etc.,
are
required
to be licensed by Texas Department of Licensing and
Regulation (TDLR).

Such swimming pool service technicians
are required to have a
Residential Appliance Installer license and the service company
they work for
must be a licensed Residential Appliance
Installation Contractor.

As of January 1, 2011, less than 500 individuals in these
companies have obtained the required licenses by the TDLR. In
addition, not all irrigation companies have obtained the licenses
required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
(TCEQ).  

Not only has
Hunter Property Services obtained the State of
Texas required licenses for the services we offer, we are
insured
for your protection
. In addition, we are members of several
trade associations, which means that we agree to follow a code
of ethics that promotes integrity, safety and quality. We also
pursue continual education and maintain our certifications so
that we can be up to date on the latest technology, materials,
techniques and safety requirements.

Do you require contracts?

In some instances, Yes. Good communication and understanding
of what's is and is not covered in the services and what is
required by both you and us is important. Therefore, while minor
repairs can be done on a work order, larger projects such as
irrigation, drainage, professional landscape lighting, weekly
swimming pool maintenance, and monthly and/or quarterly home
maintenance plans do require contacts.  

Regardless, all agreements for weekly pool cleaning services and
other weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly maintenance plans can
be cancelled upon one weeks advanced notice, therefore,
no long
term commitment is required by you
. This is because we know
that
we have to earn your trust everyday.  

Can you come out and give me a bid for my list of repairs?

Regardless of the size of your project, please call or email us.
We will spend time with you over the phone, understanding the
details of your job and can give you an idea of how long we
believe the job will take and if needed can schedule a time to
come meet with you to provide an estimate.


Can you send me a bill for the work once you're done?

In order to contain costs, we appreciate prompt payment upon
completion of the work. We accept payment by MasterCard, VISA,
Discover, American Express, cash, or check.  

How often is pool service done?

Typical pool service is
once weekly but Hunter Property Services
can provide personalized service based on each customers pool
and spa cleaning needs. The number of visits varies from month-
to-month and season-to-season.  

We bill monthly in advance. During the spring, summer and fall
months we visit weekly and during the winter we typically visit
two times per month.  

Pool service is generally done on Tuesdays Wednesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays depending on your area. In cases of bad
weather, your pool will be serviced the next serviceable day
(excluding Sundays).

Do I have to be there when you Service the pool?

It may be helpful if you are there for the first visit, but it's not
required. Whether you're there or not, we'll leave a record of
when we came and what services we performed.

Do I have to buy the chemicals for you to use?

No, we provide all basic chemicals as part of our weekly cleaning
services and store them on our trucks. You do not need to buy
chemicals, nor do you need to store the chemicals on your
property.

Can I provide my own chemicals?

While we do provide home delivery of bulk chemicals for non-
service contract customers, we do not utilize customer provided
chemicals in our services because all chemicals are not the same
and can be quite dangerous, especially if handled improperly.
Ideally, you shouldn't store them at your house at all. Some
service companies, such as Hunter Property Services, provide the
chemicals you need and you never have to worry about it.

If you are maintaining your pool yourself, or your pool service
company is requiring you to store the chemicals, then keep these
important safety recommendations in mind:

  • Keep them out of direct sunlight

  • Keep them in a well ventilated area

  • DO NOT put them inside your house

  • Make sure they won't get wet

  • DO NOT let different chemicals come in contact with each
    other.  THEY CAN EXPLODE OR CAUSE CHEMICAL
    REACTIONS THAT CAN LEAD TO DEATH.

  • DO NOT take the chemicals out of their original containers
    except when you're actually putting the chemicals in the
    pool.

  • For optimum safety, you should read the MSDS (Material
    Safety Data Sheet) for each chemical, and follow the
    guidelines identified on the sheet.

Can I provide my own parts for repairs?

Part of our service to you is to diagnose your equipment and pool
environment and to evaluate the best solution to your situation;
therefore, we are not able to install equipment that we do not
provide. Many times equipment provided by customers is
incomplete or all together the wrong part and we are not be able
to make it fit the situation, thus adding the extra expense of a
wasted trip. We believe that you will find that Hunter Property
Services provides competitively priced products and services. We
stand behind what we sell and our goal is to have you as a long-
term customer… not just a quick sell.

Why should I do continue pool service during the Winter?

Most problems to pools happen during the Fall and Winter
months. Neglected water can quickly become extremely corrosive
or scaling, which can be detrimental to your pools structure and
equipment. By having your water maintained year round, it also
eliminates high start-up cost associated with getting the water
back in balance in the spring.

Why is my pool motor making a loud noise?

It could be plugged with debris or the motor bearings may be
going out. It is common for motor bearings to get louder in cold
weather.  Give us a call to schedule a visit.  Delaying service can
lead to costly repairs.

How often should I have my filter serviced?

At least twice a year.  A clean filter increases water quality and
helps your system run better, which can reduce electrical usage
and save you money.

How do you charge for the work?

This is sometimes the first question asked but gives the least
amount of information for an apples-to-apples comparison
between home services providers.

Fees are generally based according to size, age and various other
components of the home and/or equipment needing repair.  
Services companies that provide similar services to us generally
charge a trip charge, plus an hourly rate with a two hour
minimum.  Quality home services backed by a company who's
gone above and beyond the State of Texas requirements and
that have a reputation for standing behind their work sometimes
requires a higher investment but
it's worth it.  You'll avoid
headaches later on down the line.  Depending on what's being
done, a Service change may apply

Depending on what's being done, Hunter Property Services does
offer some flat fee pricing.  A Service Fee may apply for
diagnostic services; we only have a one-hour minimum
requirement.  In addition, each additional hour is charged in 1/2
hour increments, which can save you money.
